Click for Full Image SizePopular Tinsel actress, Nkiru Kiki Omeili recently narrated her ordeal in the hands of hoodlums who broke into her car and removed valuable parts.
Omeili is listed as one of the 25 Hottest New Talents in Nollywood by the Nigerian Entertainment Today; and her repertory includes Lekki Wives, Married But Living Single and Footprints among others.

According to the pretty actress, “I went to see a friend and parked my car outside. On my return, I noticed that my trunk was partly opened, which was not the way I left it. I was dazed when I discovered that it had been ransacked and my glove compartment cleaned out.

Even the brainbox of my car had been removed,” she said. Omeili, one of the stars of Tinsel, the hugely popular Mnet series, further said that she promptly, got across to a friend who had introduced her to Mansard Insurance. Her words: “The incident happened on a Thursday and before the end of that day, the company sent me the claims form, which I filled. And by the following Monday, I got the Discharge Voucher that I also filled and sent back to them. On Tuesday, I got an alert from my bank that payment that will cover the cost of fixing my car had been made by the insurance firm. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised.

For me, that was really commendable.” The graduate of University of Lagos medical school said, “My shock stemmed from the fact that Mansard proved to be a refreshing difference in a society where mediocrity and inefficiency are the order of the day. And the fact that some of us see insurance as expensive, while in all fairness, the risks insurance helps to mitigate has proven unquantifiable"

Nollywood Actor Raises False Ebola Alarm And Gets Arrested

Click for Full Image SizeKingsley Bassey to face charges over raising false Ebola alarm
Nollywood actor Kingsley Chris Bassey was arrested over making a false Ebola alert, which resulted in disrupt of Arik Airline flight.

Bassey allegedly placed a hoax call to an Arik Air flight from Enugu to Lagos saying that there was a woman on the flight infected with the deadly tropical disease, Today reports.

The airline later explained how it all happened saying that “about 1.05p.m. on 29 August, a certain man from Enugu, called the airline’s customer call centre to alert the airline that his girlfriend who was under quarantine for the EVD had escaped and was on board flight W3 611 from Enugu to Lagos. Immediately the flight landed at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) in Ikeja, Lagos, Arik Air’s ground staff who had been placed on alert approached the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) medical personnel, but the FAAN officials at GAT said they didn’t have the requisite equipment to screen passengers for the Ebola virus symptoms.”

Thus, it became necessary to direct aircraft to the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA), where the woman was detained and transferred to the clinic for test.

The result of Ebola test conducted on a woman came up negative. Moreover, she was not suffering from Ebola symptoms.

“She then told Arik Air personnel that her boyfriend who made the malicious call from Enugu did that to smear her name because they had a misunderstanding.”

The arrested actor would be charged over the false claim and flight disrupt on September 15.

MIRACLES ABOUND AMIDST SYNAGOGUE TRAGEDY [PICTURES]

Click for Full Image SizeAmidst the chaos and pandemonium that ensued when a guest-house at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) suddenly collapsed in the early afternoon of Saturday 12th September 2014, tales of miraculous survival have begun to emerge.

“Thank You, Jesus”, a cry rang out from an onlooker, followed by a burst of relieved applause from the crowd of church helpers and rescue workers. They had been working non-stop since the giant building was reduced to rubble in a matter of seconds the previous day.

From a tiny hole at the far side of the wreckage, a body was being brought out. “She’s alive,” a man beside me reassured. Straining to look closer, I saw the woman, who was being stretchered toward an awaiting ambulance, waving her hands. “God of T.B. Joshua, you are wonderful,” the rescued lady exclaimed, her voice extraordinarily strong. She had been in the dark, under the rubble for over 24 hours.

“Bros,” I overheard a worker confiding in his colleague, “if not for God, no one should be brought out alive from there.” It was hard to disagree with his sentiment looking at the mangled remains of what was a six-storey building nearing completion.

“They’ve found another one,” a cry excitedly broke my musing, another cheer reverberating among onlookers. Despite the tragedy, the spirit of camaraderie was warming to behold. A small child was being brought out of the wreckage alive. “Wait,” one of the rescue team cautioned. “Her mother is still inside.” Moments later, mother and daughter were reunited.

“One thing you have to understand,” an official of Nigeria’s Emergency Management Association (NEMA) official told me on the condition of anonymity, “90% of those being rescued were eating or working the bottom floor of the building when it collapsed.” He shook his head in disbelief. “How they survived beats my imagination.”

“The situation could have turned out much worse,” another member of the rescue team named Sunday corroborated. “If not for God, we could be talking of over 100 fatalities.”

I made my way toward one of the ambulances preparing to leave, hoping to catch a glimpse of another survivor. A man in his late 40s lay there, wet with sweat, bruised and breathing heavily. The discussion I overhead was poignant. “Was I really in that building,” he faintly questioned the nurse as she held his hand. “Thank your God,” she quietly replied. “We should call your name miracle.”

During a three-hour visit to The SCOAN, I witnessed no fewer than 30 people brought out of the wreckage through the concerted efforts of the rescue teams. All were alive.

Ihechukwu Njoku – freelance Nigerian journalist who visited the scene of the tragic incident at The SCOAN in Lagos

NB – NEMA officials stated that over 120 people were rescued alive from the rubble with 17 deaths recorded but I was unable to independently verify these claims.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO FOOTAGE OF SYNAGOGUE COLLAPSE AND 'STRANGE AIRPLANE' ALLEGEDLY BEHIND IT

Click for Full Image SizeOn Sunday 14th April 2014, Prophet T.B. Joshua played to his congregation and Emmanuel TV viewers worldwide shocking footage captured by security cameras of the horrific moment a guest-house collapsed within the church premises.

Joshua, speaking to a packed auditorium of worshippers seemingly undeterred by the tragic incident that transpired days earlier, began by thanking officials involved in the extensive rescue operation, as well as supporters worldwide for their prayers.

He then recounted the events that preceded the building collapse at exactly 12:44pm on Friday afternoon. “I know this is not the right time to talk,”the cleric started. “I will just say a little because I don’t want to interfere with the job of security personnel.”

Joshua narrated how on Friday morning at approximately 8am, he left the ‘prayer mountain’ where he ‘lives’ to return to the church, only to be alerted by phone that “there was a jet hovering, moving around at very close range at the mountain which I had just left.”

Shortly afterwards, he was informed the plane in question was flying dangerously low over a particular building within the church premises. “We are going to show you the video,” he then announced.

Church members reacted with gasps of shock and disbelief as a video containing security footage of the ‘strange airplane’ and its multiple flights was shown, followed by the building collapse in less than three seconds of horror.

Joshua went on to state that after thirty years residing in Ikotun, Lagos, he had never witnessed an incident of this nature. “This is to tell you we have a stable terrain in this area. I have been in this community for the past 30 years and no building has collapsed,” he insisted.

He went on to assure congregants that no effort was being spared in rescuing the victims of the tragedy. “As a minister of the Gospel, our first priority is life – life saving,” he stated. “There is no compromise in what we do at all. I am going to leave this for you to judge.”

He then released a warning that another similar incident would occur within the country if proper precautions were not observed. “Let us believe, educate our people and be alert. Why? So that our country will not witness a similar incident in another place.”

Seeming to speak the minds of congregants, Joshua went on, “I know you will ask me – why Synagogue? Don’t forget the spiritual blessing that God has bestowed on us? A big head wears a large hat.”

He proceeded to decry the attitude people had exhibited towards a much-publicised confession of an alleged Boko Haram member in The SCOAN in March 2014. “No matter how long a lie is sustained, truth will someday prevail,”the cleric admonished. “We should remember the militant that came with his group to this church with a bomb. Upon televising it, they said it was a lie – but later discovered it to be true. The case is still with the security.”

He added that the multiple rumours peddled about Ebola victims dying at The SCOAN and the alleged ‘salt-water’ cure ascribed to him that went viral were all attacks against the church. “They were trying to scare you from coming to this church. Don’t be scared – you are not the target, I am the target.”

Joshua stated however that his ‘job’ on earth was still unfinished. “I knew my hour had not yet come. I have not yet finished my job.”

He reminded congregants of a message he had given several weeks earlier that the last few months of 2014, which he had already termed ‘The Year Of Crossing The Bridge’, would contain tragic and calamitous events as if ‘it were 10 years’. He declared that in the midst of the unfortunate incident, “God is on top of the matter”.

Joshua then stated that Divine judgement would befall the perpetrators of the attack. “I want to assure you that our God will get back to them – the agents of satan,” he authoritatively declared.

Joshua went on to shock congregants the more by reading out a message he had received concerning another foiled Boko Haram plot against The SCOAN. “Man of God, my name is Emmanuel,” the message stated. “I have a confession to make. I want to give my life to Jesus Christ. I am a Boko Haram member. I came to SCOAN to plant a bomb but could not do it because of the God who called you. I went back to Jos with the bomb which I still have with me now.”

“The reason I am showing you this is for you to know the God you are serving,” Joshua explained. “God wants to reveal to you what He has been doing that you don’t know about,” he continued, adding that he knows ‘faithless’ attendees may likely stop visiting his church.

Joshua concluded by saluting the ‘martyrs’ who lost their lives in the tragic incident, describing them as people of faith who ‘knew the God they are serving’.

He insisted that truth would prevail amidst the conflicting reports arising concerning the cause of the building’s collapse. “Right from the beginning of my life, people have been lying but they still come back to the truth. That is a good life – for people to lie against you first before they realise the truth. Here I am – I leave it for you to judge. I am a prophet. The security have a job to do.”

Finally! Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Opens Up On Divorce Saga, "Women Are Little Things"

Click for Full Image SizeThe Rapsody of drama between Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy and his wife, Rev Anita is not cooling off at all. Oyakhilome has responded to allegations against him following the divorce case filed by his wife, Anita. He spoke on Sunday evening during the global communion service of the Church streamed from Canada. Below is the statement...

"I heard that some media houses, especially in Nigeria are writing some things against me. All sorts of frivolous charges, that’s crazy. You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures, you will not find one man of God go against God, sinning against God.

"The only things you might find will be a man of God, maybe in two different kinds of ways. Moses, for example; when he struck the rock twice, [he] was provoked by the anger of the people. [It was] not because he wanted to do something against the Lord. No man of God does something against the Lord.

"Are you hearing me? A man of God is set on a course; there is a type of life that he is given. Then you have a young man, a young prophet; he wasn’t named; he was deceived by another man of God and so he went in a direction that God said ‘don’t go’.

"That is the only kind of thing you find about a man of God when he misses the message of God or he acts beyond what God said. But a man of God settles himself in the fight against the world… like those writing those silly things about me, that I did this and I did that.

"You don’t know who a man of God is. I don’t go in that direction. I wasn’t accused of the things you said, nor did I commit those silly things that you said and I don’t need to go into that level in such discussions.

"Jesus Christ was accused by many – a lot of frivolous charges. There will always be those who would like for it to be true. But you know, in spite of the accusations against Jesus, It didn’t change who he was. It didn’t change him.

"There are preachers and there are men of God. I am not a preacher; I am a man of God and I go in the way I’m asked to go. It may cause some troubles with individuals but that’s not because I have done something wrong and when it comes to Reverend Anita, what I will say to you is ‘pray for her’.

"Don’t act like those people. If you are married to a man of God, it doesn’t make you automatically mature. You can make mistakes; you can do something that is wrong. But some people expect the wife of a minister to definitely be at the level of that minister and so they may be looked upon and the expectation may be like that, but it’s a positional thing.

"If a man of God is married, it doesn’t automatically mean that the wife of a man of God is therefore a woman of God. That’s not the way it is in the Bible.

"That’s why you don’t really find the wives of men of God mentioned in the Bible. How many of them? Who was Peter’s wife, did you ever know her name? You never find that out. Who was John’s wife? Did you ever read the name? What about all the other Apostles? How many of their names are written in the Bible. You never find their names."

At this point, one of the female pastors sought to know why the names of wives of the men of God were not found in the Bible. Oyakhilome’s response was that she should ask God whenever she finds him.

"Why? You ask God when you find him. Ask God when you find him," he exclaimed.

"So, they are little things; don’t try to make something big out of them. So when journeying, doing the things that God called us to do, Christians should not have a divorce; it shouldn’t be but you see, that doesn’t mean a Christian may not take the step.

"They may do it but [they] have to make things right and we shouldn’t take one another to court. But when it happens, not that we don’t just want to go, it means someone is taking us there. That’s a problem, but be wise and stay focused in the word of God and don’t let those who want to feast on things like this, including Christians…

"There are Christians who like things like this; they want to make something big out of this: ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, we said it’. You said what? Judge nothing before the time. Be wise. Glory to God.

"So we are not working in sin and living in sin and hoping that we can mix sin and righteousness together. We are the manifestation of his righteousness. We walk in that light only, and that’s the way it’s gonna be," he concluded.

"I'm Done With Pastor Chris"-Anita Oyakhilome As She Insists There Is No Going Back On Divorce

Click for Full Image Size "I'm Done With Pastor Chris"-Anita Oyakhilome As She Insists There Is No Going Back On Divorce

It appears all hopes that televangelist Chris Oyakhilome and his wife, Anita, would resolve their matrimonial issues is lost as Mrs Oyakhilome through lawyers Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors has said her relationship with Pastor Chris had terribly degenerated and that there is no room for any reconciliation or out-of-court settlement.

After news broke that she had filed for divorce, journalists contacted Mrs Oyakhilome's lawyers to enquire whether any out-of-court settlement option was being explored.
In their response Tuesday, her attorneys said there was no chance the estranged couple would ever live as husband and wife again.

“It is with great sadness that our client, Pastor Anita Oyakhilome, has come to the conclusion that her marriage to Pastor Christian Oyakhilome has irretrievably broken down and regrettably there is no hope of any reconciliation,” said Stephen Goddard, Business Development Manager of Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors.

From early this year, there had been speculation that the marriage between Mr Oyakhilome, the founder of Believers Love World (aka Christ Embassy), and his wife, who is also Vice-president of the ministry, was collapsing.

Some church members even set up a Facebook page, “Where is Rev Anita Oyakhilome”, in May dedicated to addressing the issue.

The church initially denied reports that the couple were estranged and possibly divorcing.

But TheCable reported on August 29 that Mrs. Oyakhilome had filed for divorce since April 9, accusing Pastor Chris, as he is fondly called by his followers, of “adultery” and “unreasonable behaviour”.

Pastor Chris has denied the allegations. He however warned church members against analysing his problem with his wife adding that the church is not a political party.

He said his wife is a bitter and angry woman who is being influenced by bad friends who are out to seek his downfall.

‎The pastor added that most pastors’ wives usually think they are equal to their husbands after they get married.

He said his wife wanted to overpower the authorities of the elders she met when she joined the Christian ministry.

As the divorce battle rages, Mrs. Oyakhilome’s profile has been pulled down from the church’s website.
