How To Work With Pages And Posts On Your WordPress Blog

w that your blog site is all set up, it's time to add some pages and posts.
To add a page:
Dashboard > Pages > Add New
Key in your title - First page you should add is "About Me."
Be sure to add your best picture.
Place your cursor where you want your picture to be.
Click "Add Media" at the top.
Click "Upload Files."
Click "Select Files."
Browse to the picture you want and double click on it.
Scroll down and select where you want it to appear and what size. I use "left" and "thumbnail."
Then click "Insert into post."
Your picture will appear where the cursor was.
Click on the picture. It will turn blue and you will see two images.
Click the one on the left (looks like an image).
Click "Advanced Settings.
In Image Properties enter "0" next to "Border," "10" next to "Vertical Space" and "10" next to"Horizontal Space."
Click on "Update."
This will provide space between your picture and the text you enter.
Now enter all that you want people to know about you.
Make yourself sound like someone others will want to know and like.
Scroll down to the "Keywords" area and enter up to 5 keywords for which you'd like this page to be indexed.
If you'd like to have a Facebook "Like" button, scroll down to "Facebook iLike" and copy the code.
Paste it into your page at whatever point you'd like the button to appear.
When you are pleased with your page, click "Publish."
Then click "View Page" to see your page.
Add as many additional pages as you wish. You should at least have a "Contact Me" page and a "Blog" page.
To add posts:
Dashboard > Posts > Add New
Then do the same thing as above.
If you do not want the entire post to display on your blog page, after the first or second sentence, "Enter" to go to a new line, click "Insert More Tag" in the menu bar at the top, and "Enter" again so that the "Insert More Tag" is on a line by itself.
How To Get Your Pages To Appear In Your Header And How Your Posts Display.
To get your pages to appear in your header so readers can click on them to get to the individual pages:
Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus.
On the left side, toward the bottom, under Pages, check the pages which you wish to appear.
Click "Add To Menu."
At the top right you will see each of the chosen pages under "Menu."
You can change the sequence in which they appear by clicking and dragging up or down.
Once you are satisfied with the sequence, click "Save Menu."
To choose which page shows when people go to your site and where your posts appear:
Under "Settings" choose "Reading."
In "Front page displays" click "A static page."
Select which page you want for "Front page" and "Posts page."
At "For each article in a feed, show" select "Full text" or "Summary." I recommend "Summary."
At the bottom, click "Save Changes."
Your blog is now set up and ready for use!
