How to Turn Facebook Fans Into Buying Customers

Expert Author Jakki Millo

A bride is not on social media sites looking for wedding photographers, caterers, djs, etc. According to a recent survey prepared by the Department of Psychiatry at the Boston Medical Center, people are only on Facebook to connect with friends and to be entertained. Facebook is not a search engine. Yes, Facebook is trying to go that route with their new Facebook graphs but according to CNN it's far from it and more than likely will never get there due to privacy acts.
Yes Facebook can be a useful tool when it comes to bridal marketing..but only if it's used properly. So make sure that you're entertaining with your posts..but to convert a bride from fan to buyer you need to:
ALWAYS have a call to action on your Facebook post.
Use your Facebook posts as teasers to get people to do something that will lead them to your website where they can research you and call. No I'm not kidding! Even Facebook does this. If you go to https://www.facebook.com/FacebookPages?v=app_7146470109 you'll see that nearly every one of their posts have a link to their help section. Since that IS their "website" then technically they are linking to their website for more information about their post. Why? Because if they can get you comfortable with them then you'll probably buy an ad from them... and that's conversion my friend.
I've been saying for years that a blog is one of the most important marketing tools to use for sale conversion. They're easy to update and when written properly search engines love them.
What does this mean for you?
  • Create a blog right now!
  • Post an interesting and informative blog article at least once a week.
  • Make sure that every time you post on Facebook, Twitter, etc. that you include a link back to your blog article. Each blog article should include a call to action at the end... "give us a call and let's figure out how to make your wedding day memorable." (you get the point)
  • Add a photo or two or three or four to all of your Facebook posts... brides love pics. Make sure these photos are in your blog article as well for branding purposes.
Wedding professionals, if you're still paying for online advertising but don't have a blog connected to your website, stop! Go create a blog right now... and then promote it via social media and email marketing. Trust me, this is the secret to online success.
